Emma Webber joins us for a cup of tea to talk about Natural Spa Factory, her favourite products, the spa industry and what's next.
Every month we take time out, brew a cup of great British tea, sit back and talk to people about the spa industry and products. It's a great opportunity to reflect and rethink. This month it's timelier than every that we catch up with co-founder, Emma Webber.
FIRSTLY, WE NEED TO KNOW: WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT?
It’s similar to asking who’s your favourite child. I have been involved in developing ALL our products from concept through to shelf. I can almost remember when each one was conceived! Having said all that, I am loving our new Gotu Kola Bath Oils (look out for these launching this month!) and the Dusk to Dawn Night Oil is a firm favourite. It’s a family affair though as hubby loves the Fig and Vanilla Collection and having two daughters they love the new Shaker Masks.
WHAT WAS YOUR ORIGINAL VISION FOR NATURAL SPA FACTORY?
Originally, in truth I had very little aspiration for it, firstly it was about ‘me’ and my journey and whether I could work for myself. I soon realised that we could offer so much more and we developed pretty rapidly into the go to spa brand for operators with different approach.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FRUSTRATIONS WITH THE SPA INDUSTRY?
Although we have made huge steps within the spa arena, I still wish spa therapists were rewarded to stick around more and empowered to make proper business decisions. There are so many fab Spa Managers who have a real passion for the wellness aspect and the business, but not enough are coming through the ranks.
WHERE DO YOU SEE THE COMPANY IN 10 YEARS?
We will be the preferred suppliers for all spas in the UK and overseas because we not only love skincare and wellness but we are passionate about how we tell our story and how we make a difference to EVERY BODY and their skin type.
WHAT HAVE SPAS AND CUSTOMERS GOT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2019?
Watch this space! Can’t tell you all my secrets.
LASTLY, HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR TEA?
I prefer herbal teas - white tea is definitely my favourite, so much so that it even found its way in to some of our products.
