TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND – HOW DID YOU FIRST START OUT IN THE SPA INDUSTRY?
I was made redundant from an airline where I worked as a Flight Supervisor for 14 years and I joined Galgorm Resort & Spa in a Guest Liaison role before, completing numerous roles until I took over as Spa Manager.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING AT GALGORM RESORT & SPA? WHAT ATTRACTED YOU INITIALLY TO GALGORM?
I have been here 6 years in September. Galgorm is located close to home and I know it very well. The reputation for a high standard of service, combined with the beautiful surroundings where it sits along the River Maine, initially attracted me to a role here.
YOU’RE THE SPA MANAGER HERE AT GALGORM – WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE DAY, AND WHY?
My favourite part of the day would have to be early morning when I walk around before the hustle and bustle of the day. I regularly find myself catching my breath at the amazing place that I work. It’s also the time I get to say hello to my colleagues and set the tone for the day.
WHAT MAKES GALGORM STAND OUT? WHAT MAKES YOU UNIQUE, AND HOW DO YOU HIGHLIGHT THIS?
The warm and welcoming staff is without a doubt what makes our guests' visits extra special and the gorgeous Thermal Spa Village which is truly unique. Sitting in a riverside hot tub, sipping Champagne and watching the river flow by at sunset is magical.
YOU’RE LAUNCHING A NEW NATURAL SPA FACTORY TREATMENT FOR CHRISTMAS: ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS. TELL US: HOW DOES GALGORM ‘DO’ CHRISTMAS?
For the team at Galgorm, Christmas actually starts for us around March! However when the decorations go up and the atmosphere changes we all get as excited as our guests. We want guests to relax, unwind and celebrate by spending time with family - and Galgorm is perfect for doing just that.

I love to travel, and I am very lucky that I can still continue to do this. I love to read. One of the weekly highlights is bootcamp on a Friday morning with my colleagues; it's hard work but extremely funny!
INSPIRATION – WE ALL RUN OUT OF IDEAS FROM TIME TO TIME – WHAT INSPIRES / MOTIVATES YOU & FUELS YOUR FIRE ?
The people I work with. When you are open to everyone and their ideas that is where new projects are born. Also, the brothers who own Galgorm Resort & Spa inspire me constantly with the ever-growing and evolving resort.
WHAT BEAUTY OR SKINCARE SECRET HAVE YOU HAD PASSED ON TO YOU THAT YOU LIVE BY?
I believe the foundation to a good skincare regime is to drink plenty of water and have clean skin when you go to bed.
